Mike Yager has worked in the industry for nearly 15 years managing and coordinating complex educational, commercial, retail and high-end residential projects. He has experience with all phases of the design process but especially excels during design development—turning a conceptual idea into a realistic solution. His positive attitude and passion for architecture is contagious and makes him a pleasure to work with. He develops collaborative relationships with clients and can naturally coordinate details for a seamless process ensuring a successful project.
Mike has extensive experience with job-site involvement and effective communication skills for working with contractors and consultants. He has worked with local regulatory agencies for code review and permitting, and is familiar with all processes for achieving occupancy.
Recent projects include Hillel Day School Phase 1: Creating a Learning Commons & Innovation Hub, Phase 2: Creating the 7th and 8th grade Learning Community and Phase 3: Renovation of two wings – kindergarten through 2nd grade wing & 3rd grade through 6th grade wing. Mike created Learning Communities for both wings for the Boulder Valley School District Summit Middle School remodel and addition, worked on the new 49,000 square foot Creekside Elementary School and Douglass Elementary School’s new 59,000 square foot school. He contributed to the Cedar Falls Community School District’s Elementary School, a new 73,000 square foot school. Mike was also involved in the St. George’s Junior School Renovation of the 4th floor 5th & 6th grade learning community. Prior to joining FI, Mike worked on numerous commercial and residential projects and was instrumental in winning 15 distinguished design awards.
Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. Keeping at the top of his craft, Mike is a lifelong learner and regularly attends seminars and workshops in all facets of architectural design.
