Karin is a key member of the Rhode Island Studio. She utilizes her skills from master planning and programming to the preparation of final design and construction documents for our projects. She has a strong interest in technologies and natural science, which frequently influences the design of academic spaces, especially the design of technology centers and outdoor learning spaces. Karin puts a strong emphasis on the relationship between the academic community and nature, integrating green spaces into her school designs.
She has been working as a project manager for the Nun Academy, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia since 2016. The Nun Academy project is a 2,800 student PK-12 campus with separate boys and girls High Schools and a Pre-K/Primary school. The academy will be managed and operated by Kunskapsskolan of Sweden. The school campus is in the new Mayasem City development near the Kingdom Tower in the future city center just outside of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The project required a high level of management and communication, utilizing 3D model collaboration software with our EDA studio in Bangalore and the partner A/E firm in Dubai, for high quality and expedient delivery of the projects.
Karin graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in Historic Preservation and a Master of Architecture. She worked as an intern at the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission (RIHPHC) and later worked as a summer intern at FI for several years.
